I have been out of work for the last 6 weeks. I go back to work on Monday and wanted to share the stitching I was able to get done.
Here are a few ornaments I stitched and finished:
Be Mine was a freebie from Hands on Design. The rest are from the 2016 JCS ornament issue.
I also stitched A Mother’s Love is Pure by The Primitive Hare:
I gave this to my mom for her birthday. I also finished Day 12 from Plum Street Samplers. That will be in my next post when I share all of them. They are still unfinished however.
It was nice to have this extra time to stitch. Although, I am returning to work I would like to keep up this momentum and actually get projects done on my list.
Now , the moment you’ve all been waiting for (that’s why I do it last. LOL!)
(Perry is watching to make sure she doesn’t cheat)
The winner of the Shepherd’s Bush Kit- A Winter’s Tale is:
Congratulations Donna! I will get that sent out to you ASAP!
Thank you to all that entered. I appreciate the comments.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Happy New Year Everyone!
With a new year comes new goals and new resolutions. I have lots of resolutions but we won’t get into that.
I want to share my 2017 stitching goals. First, is to finish Dwelling Place. That is the club offered by Dyeing to Stitch and Little House Needleworks a few years ago.
This is my progress on the first kit:
Sad I know! I still have 3 to go!
Next is to finish the Shepherd’s Fold. Which has 6 kits altogether. This has actually been a goal for a few years now. I really need to just finish it already!
I did already finish one kit which was the fob. This is my progress on the box:
My last two goals are to finish my other WIPS and to stitch more ornaments.
Wish me luck! It’s hard because I always find other things to stitch as I am sure I am not the only one. I really need to just make these a priority so I don’t make these the same goals next year because I didn’t follow through AGAIN! That gets embarrassing!
To celebrate the New Year I am offering a giveaway. I am giving away another Shepherd’s Bush kit. This one is called A Winter’s Tale and it comes with everything you need to stitch it.
If you are interested leave me a comment on this post. I will have Madison draw a name on Jan. 15 and the winner will be announced in my post on Jan.17. Good Luck!
So speaking of goals and resolutions I want to leave you with this question- Have you ever made a New Year’s resolution that you kept?
I’ll start- I vow every year that I am going to exercise. FYI- I am STILL working on that. LOL!
Have a great weekend!
How is everyone on this eve of the New Year? I am back for my last post of 2016 and ready to start 2017.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. This post is all about ornaments. These are my 2016 ornaments and it seems I didn’t stitch as many ornaments as I wanted to. Here they are:
A few were gifts and the rest are hanging in my collection. I designed a few of them and then some are Lizzie Kate, I stitch, It’s Daffycat, Niky’s Creations, and Heart in Hand.
I had fun stitching these and for 2017 I am going to try and stitch more ornaments.
I also stitched and finished these 2 sleds for gifts for 2 very dear friends.
I love these and can’t wait to do more of them. I need to go and get a supply of these sleds and make a list of who I am going to make them for. Pretty sure I am going to make them for the girls at work.
This is my 2016 ort ornamenr:
This has become an annual ornament and I love to see all the thread colors I have worked on all year. I started this in 2014 and they are fun to look at because each one is different.
I also wanted to quickly share this kit I stitched up in time for Christmas:
It is a Bent Creek kit that my mom had in her stash. When she was cleaning out to move she gave it to me so I decided to stitch it up in time for Christmas. It came with the mat and I just have to put the loops at the top and get a dowel to hang it. Really Cute!
That’s all for today. I hope everyone has a safe and Happy new year!
Looking forward to stitching with you in 2017.
I just wanted to share with you today the 2 new patterns I just listed in my Etsy shop.
I coffee stained the fabric and used antique buttons on the branches. A gold star button is added to the top. I finished this as a pillow ornament.
Also, Chocolate Brings Joy:
This is finished as a very simple pillow ornament. Hope you like them!
If you would like to check them out you can find them at http://www.etsy.com/shop/stitchorizeit
I won’t be back with a post for a few weeks so I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I hope Santa fills your stocking with lots of stitchy goodness.
A few finishes to share today. First, is Snow Story-Warm Hearts by Lizzie Kate:
I had stitched this in the beginning of the year and just got around to finishing it. I used Mona’s tutorial for finishing it and it was pretty easy. I love this!!
I bought the snowflakes last year at Hobby Lobby in preparation for finishing the Snow Story series. 1 down 2 to go! I painted the snowflakes white and used the blue and white threads to make cording for the trim. I can’t wait to stitch the rest!
I have a few ornaments to share as well. The first 2 are gifts for 2 of the girls at work.
Christmas Peace by Heart in Hand
Penguin by Lizzie Kate from Tiny Tidings XVI
Merry Christmas which is also from Tiny Tidings XVI. The threads coming through seem to be very noticeable in this picture but not so much when it is sitting with the rest of my ornaments. Just thought I’d let you know that because yes I do see the imperfections. LOL!
I have 1 more ornament to finish for work and a few gifts to stitch and finish so those will be a different post for a different day.
That’s it for today!
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and drive safe if you are traveling!
So today I am going to share my 1st stitched project ever. Nobody laugh now! Keep in mind this was back in the 1980’s.
Aerobic Bear ( I can’t even remember who the designer is) Anyone know?
It was the summer before my junior year in high school. I didn’t have a job so my mom said” I am going to teach you how to stitch because I don’t want you sitting around all day doing nothing.” Her exact words, I swear. So in the car over to Joann’s we went and got all my supplies. It is stitched on Aida because that is all there was at the time. Look at all that backstitching. Ugh!! I didn’t think much of it back then.
This aerobic bear is what I picked to stitch because at the time I liked doing aerobics and I thought it was appropriate. I don’t mind saying for my 1st project it is pretty flawless. LOL! The rest is history!!
My 1st stitched project ever has followed me over the years and proudly hangs in my stitching room today.
Who still has their 1st stitched project? Do you remember what it was?
Have a great rest of the week and Happy Stitching!
Some fall finishes to share today.
First is my pumpkin trio which I offered as a freebie here on my blog a few weeks ago.
I used a finish by Mona and this is how mine turned out. I will definitely use this finish again. It is pretty simple and I like how it looks.
This is the back:
Next is my ghost:
I used a very simple finish on this one. I just added a hanger and put felt on the back. I love these flat finishes.
I used fabric on the ghost and pumpkin trio that I dyed. I like the orange fabric for Halloween designs.
I designed this Stitchfest pattern for our Stitchfest 2016:
I made it into a pincushion and I stitched our initials and put them on the back.
Makes a great memory of the 1st Annual Stitchfest. I can’t wait for next year!
Last but not least is Mother of the Harvest by the Little Stitcher:
This was a freebie on her blog. I love this little design! I made it into a small pillow so I could display it in my cubby.
This is the extent of my fall stitching since the holidays are fast approaching, I am now in full swing stitching ornaments. How about you?
Have a great week everyone!
