Weird title I know! Let me explain-
I made these just to try something fun. I gave 2 of them to 2 very special friends for Valentine’s Day. I want to make more of these. You could use them to hold your fabric, keep your papers together, a bookmark or whatever you want and it looks pretty.
Pheasant Feathers- When I was younger my Dad hunted pheasants among other things but pheasants were one of those. Their feathers are really cool. When my parents were getting ready to move I found them and kept them.
This is what I did with them:
I put some in a clear ball ornament to hang on my Christmas tree. The others I put in these milk jugs I bought and they are displayed in my living room. They will probably be moved around a bit depending on what I want where. I am always moving things around or to different rooms. I am never satisfied. LOL!
That’s all I have for today but did want to ask for some prayers for my Dad’s speedy recovery. He had heart surgery yesterday and is doing really well so please pray that he stays on the right track and comes home soon.
Thanks so much and have a great stitchy week everyone!
So Robin and I are doing another SAL this year and we are stitching Little House Needleworks/ Country Cottage patterns. I am excited to share Peace on Earth by Little House Needleworks:
I have a thing for sheep lately. Isn’t he cute!
I am also excited to be stitching these with Robin because it will motivate me to stitch the bunch of Little House ornaments I have.
So I decided this year that I would randomly post my collections to share. So my first my first collection I am sharing is my thread keeps.
I thought I had more but I searched all over and this is all I could find. I will however be adding to this collection this year. Some have been gifts and some I have made. I love thread keeps and use them all the time. They are one of the accessories I can’t live without. How about you?
I will post another collection at a later date after I decide what that will be. I probably will post them when I don’t have a lot of stitching to share. LOL!
I would love to share your collections on my blog. You can send me a picture @email@example.com.
Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!! I hope you all have a lovely day!
I am sharing my Valentine stitching with you today. I thought it was a great day to do this since it is actually Valentine’s Day and also because I don’t have any finishes to share. LOL!
This is my tree decked out for Valentine’s Day:
Since I don’t have a lot of stitched Valentine ornaments yet I have filled in with other related Valentines. I also left a couple snowmen as you can see which will replace the Valentine ornaments after today. At least the snowman in the back has hearts on it. Does that count?
This display is next to my tree.
and this one is on a shelf.
This Valentine mobile was made by my grandmother’s hands. I saved it from my parent’s home when they were cleaning out. I just love it mostly because my grandmother made it. This is the 2nd Valentine’s Day it has been hanging in my kitchen. My grandmother is always with me.
I will be adding hands on Design’s new L-O-V-E freebie to my Valentine collection next year. It is a really cute pattern so be sure to get over to her website, handsondesign.biz to get yourself a copy.
Hope your day is filled with love!
A quick post today as I wanted to share Tender Heart by Shepherd’s Bush:
I just love the soft colors of this. It is an older design but it was a kit my mom had given to me when she cleaned out. I knew I needed to stitch it. It also came with the mat.
It just needs a frame now and I will probably hang it in my stitching room.
That’s all I have for today.
Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.
I have 2 valentine finishes to show you today. First, is Peace To My Heart by Hands on Design:
I love these freebies and I think I have done every one of Cathy’s Valentine freebies.
My next Valentine finish was designed by me called Heart of Spools:
This was a very quick and fun stitch. I finished it as a pillow ornament and it hangs on my Valentine tree.
The pattern is available for purchase in my Etsy shop @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/stitchorizeit
I thought I would end this post with a picture of my sweet Perry doing what he does best, SLEEP. On the couch, on the blanket that his momma made for him. He’s so spoiled!!!
So as you may know this past year my friend, Robin and I did a stitch a long. We stitched the 12 Days of Christmas by Plum Street Samplers.
Here are the last 3, Day 10,11 and 12:
Here are all 12:
Sorry it is sideways. It was the only way I could fit them in.
I am so excited that I finished them all. Thank you Robin for stitching them with me. I wouldn’t have gotten them done without you.
Now I just need to figure how I want to finish them. I can’t wait to add them to my Christmas decor. How would you finish them?
I have some ideas floating around in my head. I need to lay them out and see what works. I will show the finished product when they are done.
I have been out of work for the last 6 weeks. I go back to work on Monday and wanted to share the stitching I was able to get done.
Here are a few ornaments I stitched and finished:
Be Mine was a freebie from Hands on Design. The rest are from the 2016 JCS ornament issue.
I also stitched A Mother’s Love is Pure by The Primitive Hare:
I gave this to my mom for her birthday. I also finished Day 12 from Plum Street Samplers. That will be in my next post when I share all of them. They are still unfinished however.
It was nice to have this extra time to stitch. Although, I am returning to work I would like to keep up this momentum and actually get projects done on my list.
Now , the moment you’ve all been waiting for (that’s why I do it last. LOL!)
(Perry is watching to make sure she doesn’t cheat)
The winner of the Shepherd’s Bush Kit- A Winter’s Tale is:
Congratulations Donna! I will get that sent out to you ASAP!
Thank you to all that entered. I appreciate the comments.
Have a great weekend everyone!
