Hello Stitching Friends,
I am sharing my stitching room with you today and need some help.
I am very thankful that I even have a stitching room. Since the room is small I feel there could be a way to utilize this space more to my advantage. What do you think?
Here is what I am dealing with:
I love my small stitching haven! However, it does seem that things go in but nothing seems to come out so it appears that I am running out of room. Shocking I know!
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you have for organizing my stitching haven in a relatively inexpensive manner. Anyone have any DIY tips?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Have a great weekend!
This past weekend was Stitchfest 2017 in Hershey, PA. There were 6 of us attending this year and it was great spending the weekend with some wonderful stitchy friends doing lots of stitching, talking, and eating.
This was my table before I left with stitchy goodies ready to go.
Our group this year!
Wow! I didn’t realize how much we stuff we had.
This was our snack table. We had enough to feed an army. LOL! We actually had a hotel guest come in and stock up. She thought the hotel provided the food. So funny!!
3 of us participated in an exchange. These were our lovely exchange pieces. Beautiful!!!!
These were some gifts received by some very generous stitching friends. Love you ladies and thank you for making Stitchfest 2017 great fun. I can’t wait until Stitchfest 2018 to stitch the weekend away with you again.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I finally have a few finishes to share with you today. I have had a few things happening over the last few months but everything is good now and I am back to hopefully post more regularly. I wanted to catch up on sharing my SAL’s with Robin so here are All is Calm, He’s a Flake and Merry Skater by LHN:
All is Calm I finished as a small pillow for my cubby. As you can see I still have to finish He’s a Flake and Merry Skater and a few others. I need to get them finished so I can enjoy them this holiday season.
A few other finishes include:
July Sheep by Niky’s Creations:
Sampler Roundy by Shakespeare’s Peddler:
I love this! It was a kit my mom gave me from her stash when she moved.
I designed the next pattern called Rock Island Lighthouse:
I framed this little beauty and it now resides at our family cottage. The frame I picked up at the thrift store and it fits it perfectly I think.
That’s it for today. I still have a lot to finish so I will share more soon.
I don’t have any stitching to share today but I did want to share these wine charms I made on my recent trip to the 1000 Islands.
Thread Spool Wine Charms:
I made a couple of sets and will probably be listing these in my etsy shop.
I also wanted to show you my little friend:
Isn’t he adorable! He came out to eat every morning and every evening. He is so cute I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. I wanted to go out and pick him up and snuggle with him. He was just a little guy. As you can see in the picture as he eats his apple that the mushroom is almost as big as him. LOL!
I have somewhat of a bunny obsession!
I should have some finishes to share soon.
Have a great rest of your week!
Hello Stitching Friends,
I have a few finishes to share with you today. Finally!!!
First, Land That I Love by Lizzie Kate:
I finished it as a hanging pillow to hang on my hutch. Love it! My little charm is crooked in the picture but I assure you it does hang straight. I just didn’t it was crooked until right this minute when posting it. (sigh!)
I also finished Song of Spring also by Lizzie Kate:
This was a kit from my dear friend, Robin. Love this and I finished it the way the kit showed. Everything was included. The kit also came with a bonus pattern which you see on top in the photo. I think he is adorable! Although this is supposed to be a fob I am not going to use it as that. I am going to hang it on my spring tree. Then I can enjoy the sweet little bunny every day.
That’s all I have for today.
I hope to get some more finishes done soon. Time seems to be more limited in the summertime. I am off doing outside things while the weather is nice. I am sure I am not the only one!
Have a great weekend filled with stitching!
Hello to Everyone,
I wanted to share my new sewing basket with you all today. When I saw Lori’s (Notforgotten Farm) I knew I wanted to make one for myself so I got to work.
I found my basket at Joann’s. It has a cottagey feel to it which I was looking for. I then designed my pattern for the top. Here is the result:
I designed my renditon of Boldt Castle at the 1000 Islands. I also stitched a heart and added to the top for a pincushion. I had dyed rick rack which I put around it and added a few charms as well that add to the theme of the castle.
Here are the goodies I put inside:
Please don’t mind my photo bomber. He always likes to check out new things.
I am loving my new sewing basket! Thank you Lori for the inspiration!
Have a great stitchy week!
I am back to share some more projects with you. I was playing with wine corks last week. I have made these so far:
The 2 on the left I made for my scissors using my grandmother’s beads and some old trinkets I found when my parents were cleaning out last year.
My family members have been saving wine corks for me so I am getting a good supply going.
As you can see I have big wine drinkers in my family. LOL!
I love recycling to give something a new purpose. It’s fun and somehow so satisying.
I have so many ideas for these wine corks so be on the lookout for more in the future.
Have a great week!!
